A Statement from CTS Acting President & General Counsel, Donald C. Clark
CHICAGO, August 18, 2017
Chicago Theological Seminary has been on the right side of history for over 162 years, preparing religious leaders who transform the world against hate, intolerance, oppression, and injustice of any kind. In response to the events of Charlottesville and President Trump’s deplorable misunderstanding of them, we are inspired by CTS students, alumni, faculty, and leadership, whose work and words embody the heart of our mission and commitments.
There should be no question that CTS stands against white supremacy, neo-Nazism, racism, and religious intolerance. Transforming the world toward greater justice and mercy is the very core of our identity.
